Continuing with my quest for domination of the United States one portrait at a time, I’ve started a marathon run of sixty intricate pencil portraits of every former president of the American Society of Human Genetics for the cover of their monthly journal, kicking off with Hermann Joseph Muller back in 1948.
I recently painted thirty one portraits for a Columbia University prospectus, art directed by Pentagram USA – illustrating a section on leading lights in various academic fields, all of whom have lectured there. Needless to say this was a pretty impressive line up of people, from writers and scientists to broadcasters and former US presidents.
I think I'll wait now and just upload Jan and Feb diaries together in a couple of weeks or so. To be fair it's only the second time in the eight year history of the diary that this has happened - the last time was in 2006! Here are a couple of bonus pages from December anyway...
